EarlySpeak focuses on early speech-language assessment and intervention for children from 1 1/2-5 years of age as well as for primary school aged children. Nancy Thorner, the owner and sole proprietor of EarlySpeak, has 30 years of experience working with children and their families, educators and physicians to achieve their individual speech-language goals. Pediatric disorders treated include articulation/phonological impairments, receptive and expressive language delays and disorders, childhood apraxia of speech, language- based learning disorders, fluency and voice disorders.

Nancy has a particular passion for early identification and intervention to remediate childhood speech and language issues and avoid future academic, social, emotional and communicative impairments. Nancy believes in a holistic approach to treatment, involving the child's family members in the therapy so that effective carryover of skills can be accomplished in the home, school and other natural speaking environments.
Bio:
Nancy Thorner has a bachelor's degree in Linguistics and a Master's Degree in Communication Disorders. She is a certified member of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association and is licensed in the state of Maryland for Speech-Language Pathology.

Nancy has worked in a variety of clinical settings, including public and private schools, private practice/clinics, hospitals, skilled nursing facilities, and home health. She has attended a variety of continuing education courses throughout her career, both for pediatric and geriatric populations. Nancy offers personalized, high quality, services with close family contact and involvement in all aspects of care. Nancy has extensive clinical experience as a Speech-Language Pathologist and has worked as a therapist, rehab manager and private practice owner.
