I am a bilingual licensed speech language pathologists in New York State. I specialize in treating infants/toddlers, preschool and school aged kids. I have successfully treated children with speech and language delays, feeding difficulties in picky eaters and/or medically fragile kids. Children with learning disabilities, articulation disorders, phonological disorders, dyslexia, motor speech disorders (Apraxia, Dysarthria), genetic syndromes, neurological disorders, ASD/PDD/PDD-NOS and social pragmatic disorders.
I offer bilingual speech and language services in Spanish to meet the linguistic and cultural needs of children whose parents would like them to receive services in their native language.
My feeding services for special needs children involve working with many other healthcare professionals, ABA therapists, Psychologists, Nurses, Nutritionists and Doctors. We will work as a team to help your child improve their feeding skills. I have developed a joy for working with parents in finding ways to improve their child's feeding skills and help them and their child enjoy family meals. If you are a parent/caregiver who struggles with getting a child to try new foods, who wants to learn how to make foods with high flavored different textures and consistencies, increase the nutritional value of meals and learn how to safely feed their child. This is a service that is available to you in the comfort of your own home. Videos, pictures and phone calls during mealtimes and supermarket ventures are much welcomed.

Bio
I am a NYS Licensed Speech Language Pathologist who is Bilingual (Spanish). I received my Bachelors Degree from Queens College and my Masters Degree from Western Kentucky University. The majority of my experience has been working with the pediatric population in a NYCDOE public school setting and as a NYC Early Intervention Home care Provider. I have 10 years experience working as a Teacher of Speech and Hearing Handicapped with speech and language impaired students. I also have 10 years experience working as an early intervention provider working with families and their infants/ toddlers with developmental delays in the areas of cognition, hearing, speech, language and feeding.
My mission is to share a wealth of knowledge and expertise with parents and families in their home environment and to ensure the highest quality care for all those with hearing, speech, language, cognitive, voice, and/or swallowing disorders.
I enjoy helping busy families find a way to become involved in providing carryover during daily routines so that they can enhance their loved ones communication and feeding skills. This will involve collaboration in setting goals, planning interventions for acquisition of age appropriate cognitive skills, communication skills and feedings skills. It will involve training families to be proactive and become open to hands on learning during sessions to assure that carryover is possible. I am a believer that therapy works when the therapist is able to understand the families beliefs, wants, needs and concerns. Only then can I provide the utmost care.
Continuing education is very important to me in staying in the know of current evidence based practices. I enjoy attending workshops, webinars and new courses that will further my knowledge to help my clients. I love having parents attend workshops also and keeping me posted on what they have learned or researched. With my years of experience I am proud to thank everyone I have treated because I have learned something from every child and person I have treated. I plan to continue on learning together and growing my practice so I can help as many people as I can.
