TerrificTalkers
Quality Speech/Language Therapy Services
We provide diagnostic evaluations and therapy intervention that are personalized to the individual client using various assessment/evaluative tools for ages 18 months to 18 years. These assessments are scheduled based on child’s age, communication difficulties, and taking into consideration past evaluations. The length of our evaluations is between one to three hours and can be scheduled for one to two sessions depending on age and attention factors.
Our talented and caring speech-language pathologists are dedicated to working collaboratively with family members to ensure their children learn and progress to their full communicative potential.
Education/Training
As Owner of TerrificTalkers, I hold a Bachelor of Arts degree in Education and a Master of Arts degree in speech-language pathology from Marshall University. I am licensed to practice in both North Carolina and California and hold a Certificate of Clinical Competence through the American Speech, Language and Hearing Association (ASHA). My career began serving communication disordered clients in 1987.
Bio
I have worked in the public school setting for 9 years, and joined Catherine M. Leister and Associates (now TerrificTalkers) in 1991. In 2010, I became the owner of TerrificTalkers with experience in working with preschoolers, school-aged children, adolescents, and adults. My experience covers a wide variety of communication areas, but special interests are phonological awareness, articulation, apraxia, auditory/language processing, and pervasive developmental disorder/autism. I work with various school systems providing speech and language therapy services at Charlotte Country Day School, The Fletcher School, Charlotte Latin School and St. Gabriel’s School in addition to seeing clients at this office. I also have shared the responsibility for designing and promoting the Chatterbugs language group, New Social Language Group, Summer Sound Camp and Leaping Listeners Camp for preschoolers at this practice. My new love is teletherapy!
