Melissa Katz is a speech-language pathologist specializing in working with adults (including young adults) with language (aphasia), communication, cognitive, voice, and swallowing disorders resulting from acquired neurological conditions like stroke, traumatic brain injury, brain tumor, concussion.

Most of her career was at Magee Rehab in Philadelphia on the stroke and brain injury unit where she also ran the Cancer Care Committee and co-initiated the music therapy department.

Currently, she has a private practice, Beyond Words Language & Cognition, where she provides teletherapy services to adults throughout Connecticut. She also provides educational talks at local organizations re: cognitive wellness and healthy cognitive aging.
