Care Philosophy

Steinmetz Speech & Voice is a pediatric and adult speech pathology clinic. We offer comprehensive evaluations, therapy sessions and family counseling and support. We believe that the best and fastest results occur with a team approach. Therefore, we collaborate with a child's teachers, pediatrician, and paraprofessionals to develop a unified plan. We encourage all parents to join us for as many sessions as they can, and we try to incorporate a family approach. We believe in empowering our clients to become his or her best self.

About

Avrohom Steinmetz M.S., CCC-SLP, earned his Master of Science in Communication Sciences and Disorders from Touro College. He is licensed to practice speech-language pathology in the state of New York (NYS-SLP) and holds NYS certification as a Teacher of Students with Speech and Language Disabilities (TSSLD). Avrohom holds the Certificate of Clinical Competence through the American Speech-Language and Hearing Association (ASHA).

​Avrohom works with children teens and adults in areas of stuttering, cluttering, voice disorders, speech clarity, articulation, drooling and language disorders. He has experience in both the clinical and school setting. He is proficient in English and Yiddish and conducts bilingual speech and language evaluations.

Avrohom completed training for the Lidcombe Program (a behavioral treatment for young children who stutter) by the trainer’s consortium. He also completed levels 1 and 2 of Estill Voice Training. In addition, he is certified in Lee Silverman Voice Treatment (LSVT).
