Bio:

I've been a speech pathologist for 40+ years and my clients continue to keep me interested every single day! Mountains were the backdrop for the first half of my life--I was born and went to undergraduate school in West Virginia and then moved to Tennessee for graduate school. My first 3 jobs were in Asheville NC and there I became interested in adult neurogenic disorders. Communication and swallowing can be drastically disordered by stroke, Parkinsons's Disease, cognitive problems and some serious impairments come with unknown causes. While still in NC, I started working with swallowing and speech problems resulting from head and neck cancer and I also worked with children there, gaining experience with articulation and autism. I continued with pediatrics in FL, working with medically -fragile children. In St Pete, I have lately focused on adults with communication and swallowing problems; a private practice allows ample time for individual plans and treatment.
