Our guiding philosophy at FSST is simple. We believe in working from our clients' interests and strengths. We work collaboratively with our clients to help them achieve their goals and highest potential. We believe in providing exceptional evidence-based services every time.
Speech/Language Evaluation
A speech evaluation is a non-invasive evaluation to determine the nature and severity of a speech delay or disorder. It consists of the client saying a variety of sounds/words and the clinician writes the clients responses down.
A comprehensive language evaluation involves a language sample and a standardized assessment to determine where the clients strengths and challenges are.
We offer free speech screenings and initial consultations. Speech and language assessments are covered by most insurance plans.
Stuttering/Cluttering Help
If you stutter/clutter, we can help you speak with less tension. We teach desensitization strategies and fluency enhancing strategies to help you or your child speak in an easier way.
Reading Intervention
Reading is a complex skill that takes many years to develop. We provide early reading intervention to help clients understand the relationship between speech sounds and the letters that represent them. We also help with understanding what is read, including understanding vocabulary, multiple meaning words, synonyms and antonyms, idiomatic phrases, non-literal language, inferencing, and understanding contextual clues. For clients who have had brain injury/stroke we provide reading services that address reading challenges as a result of the injury.
