I strongly believe in presuming competence and helping clients communicate and advocate for themselves more independently. I have experience with trialing and procuring Alternative and Augmentative Communication (AAC) devices to support communication access. Another professional interest is supporting Gestalt Language Processors; Gestalt Language Processors learn to speak in chunks or phrases, using echolalia (repetition of phrases or units of meaning) prior to learning to break up those chunks into single words that may be combined into more traditional grammar.
