Description
Hello everyone!

I’m posting here because I’m deeply motivated to find my way back to the field of language and patient-centered care. I studied Linguistics at UMass Amherst in Massachusetts, with a strong focus in the theoretical side of linguistics (phonology) and phonetics. After graduating, life took me on a different path—opportunities to return to the field weren’t accessible at the time, and shortly after, I became pregnant with my daughter, who is now 12.

When I returned to the workforce, I worked in event coordination until the pandemic brought that industry to a halt. From there, I transitioned into orthodontics, where I’ve spent the last several years in healthcare administration. My current employer often refers to me as a “Swiss Army knife,” and I’m proud to be someone known for adaptability, curiosity, and a strong work ethic. I enjoy healthcare administration and supporting clinical teams but I feel that this stage of my life finally allows me to pursue my original passion: language (and helpin' people talk good! ;P)

I’m sharing this post to connect with any local Speech-Language Pathologists or practices who may be looking for an office all-star: someone with a solid foundation in linguistics (particularly phonetics), strong administrative/organizational skills, and a genuine passion for supporting patients and providers alike.

Thank you so much for reading and for any consideration you may give.

With warmth (and a little embarrassment...),
Steph
