JoAnn Ficca, M.Ed., M.A., CCC-SLP
We offer a broad range of speech and language programs, specializing in corporate and individual Accent Modification programs for non-native English speakers, and voice, speech, language and fluency therapy for children and adults with speech and language disorders.

JoAnn G. Ficca founded Associates in Speech and Language in 1979, adapting her years of clinical experience to private practice at the behest of local physicians who saw the need for a private practitioner in the area. An accomplished clinician and teacher, JoAnn brings her knowledge of the physiology, anatomy, acquisition and pathology of language to her evaluation of clients’ speech and language difficulties, in order to develop therapy programs customized to their individual needs. She has extensive experience in accent modification for clients with a broad range of native languages, including Eastern, Western and Northern European, African, Asian and Pacific Islands. JoAnn’s caring, insightful approach allows her to relate effectively to clients of all ages and circumstances, from preschoolers to adolescents to young adults and corporate executives, with creative, personalized programs.

Addressing the needs of the multilingual community, JoAnn has developed and executed a variety of successful communications improvement programs for non-native speakers of English, with individual and group Training Courses taught at Princeton-area Insurance, Pharmaceutical, Financial, Engineering and Educational Companies, Colleges and Universities, NJ Human Resource Development Institute, Departments of Transportation and Environmental Protection. In addition to her corporate executive training programs for the multilingual, JoAnn has extensive experience in evaluation and treatment of communication disorders in preschool through college students and adults, including:

Working with several local schools and Boards of Education has allowed JoAnn to offer her expertise in speech and language to a wide variety of student audiences, including hearing impaired, autistic, physically challenged and neurologically impaired preschool, elementary, middle and high school students. She has been a member of various Child Study Teams as a consulting speech language pathologist throughout her professional career. JoAnn has contracted services to a broad range of governmental and medical entities; her practice has included Speech-Language Services for Hearing Impaired, Language, Adult Stroke, Head Trauma and Dysphagia clients. She has also developed/taught Early Language Development Courses: Building Blocks for Language and the Talking Toddler, and conducted Diagnostic Evaluations for preschools.
