Alyssa has dedicated her career to helping children to meet their goals in the areas of speech, language, communication and feeding/swallowing. For more than 17 years she has supported parents through family centered and evidence based approaches. Alyssa’s interests include language delay, autism, apraxia of speech, hearing loss, voice disorders and feeding and swallowing disorder. Providing speech and language services in the home or through telepractice allows children and their families to to target communication skills that are important to them. Alyssa has found that when families and clinicians work together to set and achieve goals, progress happens quickly and naturally.

In addition to private practice, Alyssa is a Clinical Instructor at Wayne State University. She provides supervision and clinical education to undergraduate and graduate students who are studying the field of speech language pathology. Alyssa instructs the graduate Phonology course at WSU. Alyssa has presented at professional conferences both locally and nationally on treatment for children with autism spectrum disorder. She has also provided in services and trainings on the topics of auditory rehabilitation for children with cochleae implants.
Alyssa’s passion for excellence in the field of speech and language pathology has led her to achieve the ACE Award from the American Speech Language Hearing Association in 2018 and 2020. Previously, Alyssa served as the Senior Speech Language Pathologist at the Children’s Hospital of Michigan and has worked in schools, outpatient clinics and private practice since 2003.
