Pediatric Speech and Language Services
Inspire Speech and Language Therapy, LLC provides speech and language therapy services (i.e., screenings, evaluations, and therapy) to children ages 0-18 years of age who are having difficulty with their receptive language skills (understanding what is being said to them) or their expressive language skills (communicating their thoughts, wants, and needs). Inspire Speech and Language Therapy, LLC also provides speech therapy for children who are not yet speaking or have sound substitutions and omissions that make their speech attempts difficult for the listener to understand. We understand how important it is for a child to be able to communicate their thoughts and not get discouraged when others don't understand them. That is why we strive to make therapy fun so your child will feel comfortable while learning. The family is a significant part of a child's life and therefore, Inspire wants you to share your concerns, goals, and ideas with us. Family involvement in therapy sessions and homework is welcomed and encouraged so that the child use newly acquired skills with family and community contacts. I provide evidence based, individualized speech therapy for your child in order to help propel them toward their highest ability and potential. Inspire Speech and Language Therapy, LLC serves clients in Ashtabula County.
Education/Training
I attended the University of Akron for both my undergraduate and graduate studies where I obtained a Master of Arts Degree in Speech-Language Pathology in 1991.
Bio
Hi! I’m Evelyn J. Pierce-Ruhland, M.A., CCC-SLP, and I am excited to meet you!
I have been treating children ages birth to adolescence for a total of 15 years. I have worked in many different settings, including children’s outpatient therapy, an ENT’s office, and in a variety of schools. I enjoy working with children and helping them develop their speech and language skills so that they can communicate effectively with their family, peers, and others in their community. I am passionate about empowering parents so that they can make informed decisions related to communication issues as well as helping their child improve their speech and language skills.
My mission is to INSPIRE my clients and their families to reach for the stars and see what can be accomplished together.
I live in Kingsville, Ohio with my husband, Tom (an Occupational Therapist) and our three children Brandon, Patrick, and Sydney. I am smitten with our two Cavachon dogs, Rayn and Gemma, who love cuddling on the couch with me. I also enjoy watching movies, scrapbooking, attending Bible studies, mowing, and spending time with my family. I love using gel colored ink pens!

I am a board certified Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) and certified member of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA). I am a member of the Ohio Speech-Language-Hearing Association (OSLHA).
