Heartfelt Speech & Language Therapy is a private practice located in Bergen County, NJ, offering consultation, evaluation, and treatment in the areas of speech, language, voice, fluency, cognition, and swallowing disorders. Heartfelt's mission is to improve overall communication and quality of life by providing personalized therapy to children, adults, the geriatric population, and their families in need of our services. Heartfelt provides in-home therapy, or in a private clinic room depending on the client's preference.
Education/Training
Katelyn received a Bachelor's of Arts degree in Speech Language Pathology and Audiology from Iona College (New Rochelle, NY) and a Master's of Science degree in Communicative Sciences and Disorders from New York University (New York, NY).

Bio
Katelyn Van Schaik is a New Jersey State licensed and American Speech-Hearing Association (ASHA) accredited speech-language pathologist with 5+ years experience working with preschool, school-aged children, adults, and geriatrics. She has extensive clinical experience with dysphagia (swallowing disorders), voice disorders, motor-speech disorders (apraxia/dysarthria), aphasia, traumatic brain injury (TBI), and speech and language delays and disorders in pre-school and school-aged special education, and adults in rehabilitation and hospital settings. She is PROMPT level 1 trained, Picture Exchange Communication System (PECS) trained, and has attended numerous continuing education seminars and workshops on various areas of the field.
