Speech Therapy
Help Me Speak, LLC is the premier private practice in Howard County! We service infants, toddlers, preschoolers, school age children, teens, & adults. For our pediatric clients, we encourage & facilitate parent involvement. Our training is current with the latest innovative methods & techniques.
We specialize in evaluating & treating clients of all ages with oromyofunctional disorders, apraxia, autism, &/or eating/feeding challenges. Also, we provide services for clients with: Down syndrome, CP, articulation errors, tongue tie, oromyofunctional disorders, language learning disorders, stuttering, developmental delays, genetic &/or neurological disorders & more. Our SLPs are trained in PROMPT, structured oral placement exercises (Talk Tools), Beckman stretches, Kaufman techniques, Fast ForWord, Food Chaining, The Sequential Oral Sensory (SOS) Approach to Feeding, Rhythmic Entrainment Intervention (REI), Interactive Metronome (IM), Suzanne Evans Morris' mealtimes strategies, & a variety of traditional therapy approaches.
Our brand new clinic includes many treatment rooms w/parent observation in the session or via tablet, a kitchenette, a bathroom, a waiting area, & a loaded toy/ therapy supply closet. Siblings are welcome to play in the waiting area during therapy sessions. Our clinic is handicapped accessible.
Help Me Speak, LLC provides their clients with individualized therapy sessions in a structured, yet comfortable environment. Customized evaluations & intensive therapy programs for distance clients are available. We have always been a neuroaffirming practice that supports our clients where their skills are currently. We coordinate with other medical professionals as needed.
Education/Training
Our SLPs are MD licensed, ASHA certified, hold their Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC), and hold a Master's Degree in Speech-Language Pathology.
Barbara has earned 17 ACEs so far! (ACE= Award for Continuing Education, 1 ACE=70 hrs of education)
Bio
Barbara Taylor is the mom of wonderful 20yo girl/boy twins, wife to a supportive man, and CEO of Help Me Speak, LLC. We have several other excellent SLPs who provide therapy sessions. We only hire the BEST SLPs! Our SLPs are trained in the latest progressive techniques.
Our mission at Help Me Speak, LLC is to help people of all ages to improve their orofacial myofunctional, communication, and learning skills & to make a positive difference—in quality and quantity— in the lives of each client & family. Progress comes in all forms—small steps and large leaps. We will be there to help the whole client (client & family) to learn to breathe, speak, eat, sign, learn, and/or play. Since maximal progress in speech, language, eating therapy occurs in an environment of optimal nutrition and reduced stress, we are dedicated to helping our clients & their families achieve a healthy lifestyle that compliments their therapy goals.
