Bio
Maribel Serrano Holder, M.S., M.A., CCC-SLP
My pronouns are she/her/ella/la. I am a California-licensed Speech-Language Pathologist and founder of Logopedia Speech & Language Therapy, Inc.
A little more about me: I am a descendant of the indigenous peoples of Mexico. I am also neurodivergent, meaning I live and exist in a world that wasn’t designed for me or others like me. I started Logopedia (pronounced: lo·go·peh·dia) because I wanted to serve the diverse needs of the Latiné gender-expansive, young autistic, neurodivergent, and medically fragile populations by providing accessible, affirming, high-quality, culturally responsive, and evidence-supported services. My mission with building Logopedia was to provide a safe, accepting, nurturing, and supportive environment where our clients can discover their voice (whatever shape or form it takes) and express themselves authentically.
I hold a B.A. in Psychology from the University of Arizona, an M.S. in Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences from San Francisco State University, and an M.A. in Infant and Early Childhood Development from Fielding Graduate University, where I am presently pursuing a doctorate. I am a certified member of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA), the World Professional Association for Transgender Health (WPATH), and the International Society for Augmentative and Alternative Communication (ISAAC). I am also a certified Hanen® instructor, DIR Floortime® expert level clinician and training leader, and I have extensive training in Gestalt Language Processing and Natural Language Acquisition. In recognition of my commitment to learning, I am a proud recipient of three ASHA Awards for Continuing Education (ACE).
