Bio
I am a New York state licensed speech language pathologist with over 10 years experience treating clients ages 0-22 in a variety of settings, including home care, private practice and public schools. I also supervise recently graduated speech language pathologists, sharing my expertise with them during their fellowship year.
I am a lifelong learner, and am the recipient of the Award for Continuing Education from the American Speech and Hearing Association for exceeding the required continuing education and am bilingual certified from Columbia Teachers College. I am fluent in Swedish in addition to English.
I am trained in established and evidence-based programs, such as UCLA’s PEERS® Social Skills Program and Social Thinking but has an individualized approach to therapy honoring neurodivergence.
Marie’s areas of specialty include social communication skills, articulation and phonological impairments, developmental language disorders and executive functioning.
I value unique perspectives and thrive to always provide a judgment free environment, where clients can be themselves and express themselves freely. My goal is to provide clients with social communication difficulties with the tools they need to better understand the world around them, to avoid misunderstandings, and to make friends and social connections on their terms.
