Lizzie's mission is to empower her clients to communicate effectively across all environments, both social and academic. She specializes in social communication disorders. Children who experience speech and language disorders, or social communication disorders, may feel frustration at home and in school. They may have difficulty reading and writing, making and maintaining friendships, and interacting peacefully with family members. Speech and language therapy can help children learn to communicate effectively and overcome challenges they may face across all settings. Lizzie provides nurturing, holisitc therapy that helps children reach their full potential. She creates a fun, engaging environment in which children love to learn. She provides treatment for all communication-based disorders, including:
Receptive language (listening, answering questions, following directions)
Expressive language (late talkers, expressing needs, asking questions, telling stories, etc.)
Play Skills
Articulation and phonology
Social-Pragmatic language (conversation skills, attention, problem solving, etc.)
Stuttering
Language-based learning disabilities (reading, writing, spelling, etc.)

Bio
Lizzie Gavin is a speech-language pathologist based in New York City. She treats all receptive, expressive and pragmatic language disorders, as well as articulation and phonological disorders. She specializes in treating students with language delay, and social learning challenges. Lizzie has extensive training in the Social Thinking curriculum, and believes that social cognitive skills are the basis for all social and academic language skills.
