Speakeasy SLP is a speech and language practice that specializes in treating youngsters with neuromuscular disorders (apraxia and dysarthria), autism, behavioral based feeding issues, social skills, and language-based learning delays/disorders.
A variety of techniques are used to help clients achieve success. These include: The PROMPT method, successive approximations, Social Stories, Applied Behavioral Analysis, and the SOS Approach to Feeding. In addition to strong clinical skills, our sessions are fun, age-appropriate, and customized to each client’s needs. Based on Long Island’s south shore in Nassau County, Speakeasy SLP is a must for any parent that feels that their child’s communication challenges require a highly specialized professional with years of experience treating difficult speech-language concerns.
Parker Ramsey, M.S., CCC-SLP, is a certified Speech Language Pathologist and the founder of Speakeasy SLP. He earned his Master’s Degree in Speech Language Pathology from CUNY Hunter College and a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Music from Bard College. He holds his Certificate of Clinical Competence from ASHA. Parker is level II PROMPT trained and has been using this dynamic approach with his clients since 2005. In addition, he has training in social story writing, Applied Behavioral Analysis, successive approximation approaches, Augmentative Communication, and the SOS feeding approach.

Bio
Past experience includes providing therapy and evaluations through Early Intervention both in New York City and Long Island. Parker is a tenured Speech-Language Pathologist in the Long Beach Public Schools. In private practice he gives consultations and treatment for toddlers and school-aged children with apraxia, motor- speech disorders, behavioral based feeding issues, language delays and disorders, social language impairments, and articulation delays and disorders. Parker has collaborated with countless professionals and parents in CSE meetings, ABA teams, parent training, and other team members (e.g. OT, PT, BCBA etc.). He has been working in early childhood for seventeen years. Parker lives on Long Island with his wife and two daughters.
