Mobile FEES Provider. Swallowing specialist.
Specializes in Swallowing and Swallowing Disorders
I am a medical Speech Language pathologist with a passion for helping people who have swallowing difficulties. I am a great believer in patient centered care and quality of life. My goal is to help you achieve your goals and help you return to eating the foods you enjoy, get back to enjoying meal time with family, happy hour with friends, and cake at your child's party. An important and essential part of improving swallow function, is finding out what is wrong. If we don't know what is broken, we can't understand how to fix it!
I utilize equipment that allows me direct visualization of your throat while you eat, so that I can see if there is any food or liquid entering or threatening to enter your windpipe (aspiration), getting caught in your throat despite your attempt to swallow it (residue), or anything else that may be preventing you to swallow in an efficient or safe way. I use the information I gather form that assessment, to design a personalized treatment plan to maximize your progress. We will use a combination of different modalities (as appropriate) and evidenced based treatment exercises to target deficits identified. Your effort, motivation, and commitment are an important part of your success. We will work together to help you achieve your goals. If you have any questions , please feel free to contact me. Looking forward to helping you through your journey toward healing!
