Expressions Speech-Language Pathology Services, Inc. offers the expertise of four licensed and highly qualified, motivated and ethical Speech Language Pathologists who identify, diagnose and implement evidenced based therapy. Each Speech Language Pathologist holds a Clinical Competence Certificate (CCC) awarded by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA), as well as a state of California Speech Language Pathology License. We provide a nurturing environment to serve individuals, families, and groups from diverse linguistic and cultural backgrounds. Services are provided based on applying the best available research evidence, using expert clinical judgments and considering clients' individual preferences and values. Expressions’ speech-language pathologists address typical and atypical communication and swallowing in the following areas • speech sound production o articulation o apraxia of speech o dysarthria • voice o phonation quality o pitch o loudness o respiration • fluency o stuttering o cluttering • language (comprehension and expression) o phonology, morphology, syntax, and semantics o pragmatics (language use, social aspects of communication) o literacy (reading, writing, spelling) • cognition o attention o memory o sequencing o problem solving o executive functioning • feeding and swallowing o oral, pharyngeal, laryngeal, esophageal o orofacial myology (including tongue thrust) o oral-motor functions
Each client’s goals are closely monitored using a written therapy log for every session (e.g., S.O.A.P method). Every client’s progress will be reported quarterly using both a written report with a corresponding treatment plan. Attention to detail and on-going assessment allows us to modify strategies as necessary or to create new goals as needed. Expressions Speech Therapy also strives for 100% satisfaction from its consumers. To allow for family and client feedback, an annual Satisfaction Survey is distributed.
Expressions’ main suite interior contains 8-discrete therapy rooms which are used for individual and group sessions. We believe that the space provided respects the privacy our clients deserve and provides an optimal therapeutic environment. While we offer a quiet waiting room, families are encouraged to be part of the therapy process to help facilitate generalization of skills into the natural environment. Our secondary office suite offers a larger therapy room for social skills group training as well as an environment conducive for adults with disabilities. |
