After working for years in the local schools, therapy clinics, and hospital settings, we found a wide disconnect between what was needed, and what was offered and available. As SLP’s we believe that these needed services are fundamental to increasing quality of life. We grew tired of the school systems limiting appropriate treatment frequency due to budget and staffing restraints. We’ve worked in the “comprehensive” clinics where speech therapy is only an “after-thought,” and not given adequate resources. We created a clinic where speech services are our primary focus. We realize that all ages are affected by speech-language needs, as communication is a necessary life skill. We love working with the pediatric and youth population. We are also trained to meet the unique needs of adults. We want to not only increase access to these all-important services, but to do so in a timely manner.

Those who have sought care have felt the frustration of being placed on waiting lists for many months at the larger clinics and hospitals. They also know the inconvenience of meeting the schedule of a part time therapist providing care in the home setting. Working within the wide range of communication services for children, adolescents, and adults is all we do at Summit Speech Therapy. Directing our full-time energy and resources towards these services allows us to stay at the forefront of the Speech-Language industry, and to provide the best care in the best interest of client and family.

Bio:

I have been a state licensed and ASHA certified SLP for over 8 years now. I have been fortunate enough to work with a wide array of populations ranging from early intervention (birth to 3), school age children (pre K - 12th grade including functional skills populations) and in various skilled nursing facilities/rehab and hospital settings (all ages - geriatric). I enjoy my job and think of it more as an opportunity to help others then as a "job". I love working along side family members as they are a vital part in my clients/patients success. I have an amazing supportive husband and 3 incredible boys that are my everything. We enjoy the great outdoors and playing sports.
