Practice Information

Speech Strategies is a private practice that was started by Catherine Delfino after 15 years of providing speech-language services to clients in a variety of settings. She has had the pleasure of working with both children and adults to improve their communication skills. Speech Strategies specializes in involving families in the treatment process to allow communication to continue throughout the client's daily life. Catherine founded the practice due to her belief that establishing a relationship with not only the client but also the client's family members was the most effective method of achieving goals in the most timely manner.

Education

Catherine has experience working with both pediatric and adult populations in various settings. She has extensive experience working in the Early Intervention programs with children and their families in their homes and in daycare settings. She has been a member of the Child Study Team with school-aged children in both public and private schools, and worked with children in clinical settings. Catherine has built relationships with adults in rehabilitation centers, assisted living facilities, and in their home environment. She believes in working with patients where they feel most comfortable to allow them to achieve their goals in the most timely manner. Working within homes has provided Catherine with the opportunity to train family members to allow skills to be used more consistently by everyone involved with the team.

Bio:

Catherine Delfino, MA CCC-SLP is the owner of Speech Strategies. She has extensive experience in providing both diagnostic and therapeutic speech-language services to clients for over 15 years. She currently lives in Flemington, NJ with her husband, their two children, and their pets. Catherine currently practives in both Hunterdon and Somerset counties. Catherine graduated with a Master's degree in Speech-language Pathology from The College of New Jersey with Departmental Honors and minored in both Education of the Hearing Impaired and Psychology. She is a member of Kappa Delta Pi. She is New Jersey state licensed and a nationally accredited speech-language pathologist by ASHA, the American Speech and Hearing Association. She maintains her Certificate of Clinical Competency through her attendance in continuing education courses. Catherine is certified as a Speech-Language Specialist with NJ public school system. She also maintains her NJ state licensure and CPR/First Aid certifications.
