Speech and Language Therapy and Aba Therapy in One Location
Building BLOCS serves children with autism and other language, behavior, and learning needs in the greater austin area. Challenging behaviors often arise because children lack the ability to communicate. At Building BLOCS, the behavior therapist and language therapist collaborate on goals and methods, realizing that each of these areas is dependent on and contributes to the other. Also, ABA therapy (Applied Behavior Analysis) and speech therapy are sought for most children with autism. It makes sense to house the two in one location. Our purpose is to help children learn the communication, behavioral, and social skills necessary to reach their full potential. As an interdisciplinary team, we will meet the individual needs of each child and his family in a supportive and nurturing environment. We believe that a child’s language, behavior, social cognition, and sensory needs work in concert, and by integrating our therapies and approaches, we can make the greatest impact.

Speech, Language and Social Skills Specialists
We help Austin kids speak clearly so they can enjoy life!
SPECIALISTS IN SPEECH At "All Clear Speech Therapy", we love speech and language! Our specialty is improving clarity of speech, even in children who have shown only limited improvement with past speech therapy. Our secret lies in identifying the underlying causes of persistent difficulties with clarity of speech and in correcting them so that improvements in how your child produces sounds are stable and lasting. WHAT WE TREAT • Articulation • Motor Speech Disorders • Phonological processing • Orofacial Myofunctional Disorders (tongue thrust, tongue tie, etc.) • Stuttering • Late Talkers • Expressive and receptive language disorders • Speech and language disorders in bilingual and multilingual children HOW OUR SPEECH THERAPY WORKS The therapy process starts with a complete evaluation, during which your concerns and the child’s current communication strengths and areas for improvement are determined. Based on these, the therapist designs a treatment plan that is tailored to your child’s unique needs, personality, interests, and to your concerns. At "All Clear Speech Therapy", your concerns as a parent and your child’s personality and interests are central to the process of therapy. We see therapy not as something dictated solely by a professional, but rather as a collaboration between you, your child, and the therapist. By working together, we can help your child achieve clear communication skills.

Dyslexia Screening Assessments and Therapy
Since 1984, I have worked with professionally diagnosed clients who have dyslexia or related disorders such as language based learning disabilities. I use various programs depending on the needs of my clients. Take Flight, Rewards, Basic Language Skills, Wilson, and Lindamood-Bell are some of the programs that I am able to implement with my clients. I teach phonological processing, alphabet-dictionary-vocabulary skills, decoding, reading fluency, scientific spelling, comprehension, and written expression skills. I also do initial baseline testing and assessment screening as well as progress monitoring with standardized tests such as the CTOPP, GORT-4, and TOWRE-4. My clients usually work for at least two years to complete the remedial process of language retraining.
