Reaching New Heights, LLC
Speech-Language Pathologist
Broadview Heights, OH 44147
Innovative Pediatric Speech and Language Therapy
Social Skills Groups, Articulation, Language, Communication
Reaching New Heights is different from other Speech Language Therapy practices: Innovative speech and language therapy in an environment that is comfortable and welcoming for both the child and adults. A therapist who thinks outside the box, meeting the child in a place that is meaningful, fun, and functional. A child centered, family centered therapeutic setting where generalization is the goal. The philosophy at Reaching New Heights is child first. The Speech Language Pathologists will meet your child where he or she is right now. We will develop a treatment plan based on your child's strengths and weaknesses as well as likes and dislikes. Our goal is the same as yours - to help your child reach his or her true potential. Every child is unique and every child's needs are different. It is important that therapy be motivating, engaging and FUN so your child is an active participant and wants to come to the sessions. At Reaching New Heights, we take a different approach to social skills intervention by engaging the children in a group task. We call the group the "Snack Pack" as the children will work together to follow a recipe and make their own snack or lunch. This task involves following directions, taking turns, and working together for a common goal - skills that are needed in school and throughout life. Additionally, the children will be exposed to different foods in both preparation and tasting. After eating the snack, each child will complete a "review" of the snack to put in their recipe binder During the entire process, the children will engage in conversation with their peers. Therapy/Services Provided: Speech and Language Evaluations Apraxia of Speech (PROMPT trained) Autism (extensive experience and training including post graduate courses at KSU) Non-verbal communication (PECS trained) Augmentative and Alternative Communication (LAMP trained) Articulation Phonology Phonemic Awareness/Decoding Receptive and Expressive Language Social Skills - "Snack Pack" after school groups Reading Comprehension Written Language Word Finding/Memory
