The George Washington University Speech & Hearing Center has been serving clients since 1946. The Center provides a full range of speech, language, voice, accent modification and hearing services for individuals with communicative disorders. As an educational facility for graduate students entering the field of speech-language pathology, the Center maintains high standards in its delivery of comprehensive evaluations and therapy. The Center serves persons of all ages. There are seven speech-language pathologists and two audiologists on staff supervise the graduate clinicians. Our excellent support staff can assist you in obtaining an appointment with the speech-language pathologists and audiologists. The Speech, Language and Voice portion of the Center operates on a semester basis while the Audiology portion of the Center operates year round. The Audiologists work with numerous brands of hearing aids and amplification products and also participate with the Audient/EPIC hearing aid program. As a University-based Center, we are committed to providing our graduate student clinicians with a variety of disorders that will prepare them for future independence. As a result, in order to properly provide them with a meaningful education, the number of clients per semester is limited. Therefore, acceptance to our program cannot be guaranteed, however placement on a waiting list is available. If accepted into the program, clients are expected to maintain regular and punctual attendance. If frequent absence or tardiness occurs, we reserve the right to dismiss the client from the program.
