Our LSVT-LOUD treatment teaches Parkinson’s Disease patients techniques to improve their communication ability and perception of appropriate loudness. Dysphagia – Patients with dysphagia have difficulty swallowing and may experience pain while swallowing, making it difficult to eat. Dysphagia is caused by weak muscles in the mouth and throat and is often a result of a stroke, multiple sclerosis, Parkinson’s disease or Alzheimer’s disease. Aphasia – Aphasia causes patients to have difficulty reading, speaking, listening and writing. Aphasia is caused by damage to parts of the brain that are responsible for language. We provide diagnostic evaluations and therapy intervention that are personalized to the individual client using various assessment/evaluative tools for ages 18 months to 18 years. These assessments are scheduled based on child’s age, communication difficulties, and taking into consideration past evaluations. The length of our evaluations is between one to three hours and can be scheduled for one to two sessions depending on age and attention factors.
