Neurofeedback is direct training of brain function, by which the brain learns to function more efficiently. We observe the brain in action from moment to moment. We show that information back to the person. And we reward the brain for changing its own activity to more appropriate patterns. This is a gradual learning process. It applies to any aspect of brain function that we can measure. Neurofeedback is also called EEG Biofeedback, because it is based on electrical brain activity, the electroencephalogram, or EEG. Neurofeedback is training in self-regulation. It is simply biofeedback applied to the brain directly. Self-regulation is a necessary part of good brain function. Self-regulation training allows the system (the central nervous system) to function better. Neurofeedback addresses problems of brain dis-regulation. These happen to be numerous.  6965 San Luis Ave, Atascadero • Anxiety/Depression Spectrum • Attention Deficits • Behavior Disorders • Various Sleep Disorders • Headaches & Migraines • Traumatic Brain Injury • PMS & Emotional Disturbances • History of Stroke • Seizures • Autism Spectrum • Cerebral Palsy • Optimal performance in high stress jobs and sports

Services: ** TELETHERAPY AVAILABLE ** LSVT-LOUD (Speech treatment for Parkinson's Disease patients):We provide evaluation and treatment for Parkinson’s Disease related communication deficits. Parkinson’s Disease and other neurological deficits often cause faulty feedback to the brain which can result in communication that is too soft, mumbled, monotone or hoarse. Because of this, patients with Parkinson's Disease can often be difficult to understand. Our LSVT-LOUD treatment teaches Parkinson’s Disease patients techniques to improve their communication ability and perception of appropriate loudness. Dysphagia – Patients with dysphagia have difficulty swallowing and may experience pain while swallowing, making it difficult to eat. Dysphagia is caused by weak muscles in the mouth and throat and is often a result of a stroke, multiple sclerosis, Parkinson’s disease or Alzheimer’s disease. Aphasia – Aphasia causes patients to have difficulty reading, speaking, listening and writing. Aphasia is caused by damage to parts of the brain that are responsible for language. Apraxia – Patients with apraxia have difficulty speaking what he/she wants to speak. Apraxia can occur in two forms. Patients can be born with the disorder or it can develop from a stroke or head injury. Dysarthria – Patients with dysarthria may have slurred speech, a slow or rapid rate of speech, abnormal rhythm when speaking or difficulty chewing and swallowing. Dysarthria can develop from a stroke or head injury. Stuttering – Stuttering is a communication disorder that causes difficulty in fluency of speech. This includes involuntary repetitions of words, parts of words or sounds. Stuttering is also referred to as stammering. Dementia – Dementia is related to memory loss. A speech-language pathologist can help patients with dementia by using strategies to help preserve communications and cognitive function.

Don't Just Cope With Autism. Make Life Better!
Transformative Autism Coaching
Disconnection. Isolation. Having a child with autism makes life hard. You’re running more, trying harder than any parent you know, and getting back so much less. It’s not just the big accomplishments—the Instagram Superstar moments everyone posts of their kids—that you miss. Even more, it’s the little things, like shooting hoops, baking together, playing games, story time… All those small moments of big connection that were supposed to be “givens” of parenting… And despite those nagging voices in your head … or possibly even from folks around you… before we go any further, let me reassure you that YOU are a GOOD PARENT. How do I know? Because you’re here. You recognize that your child, your family, YOU have a need, and you’re actively seeking solutions. I know you’re running. And I know that when you’re not running, your mind is. Running for the answers, for the solutions to this mystery that separates your child from you, from the world. Let me tell you a secret. You can stop running now. Your answer has been right here all along... Because YOU are your child’s best medicine. I know this probably isn’t the message you’re used to hearing. But it’s true. When you really boil it down, the only difference between ASD and “normal” development is the different between this: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1SLzPyxzbYIwNnW0jcdnHmqKBYX27e0NW/view?usp=sharing And this: https://drive.google.com/file/d/19o6T7DbYnUCz8kTdqJjOYKAd6dtAqGi_/view?usp=sharing It’s just a matter of your child knowing how to span the gap and grab hold of the scaffolding guidance you provide. That’s it. But simple isn’t always easy… without the proper guidance. And that’s where I come in. If you want to guide your child to reach out to you (and others) for genuine, meaningful connection. If you want to learn how to help them THRIVE—now, and in the future—I can help. Reach out today to schedule a free consultation.

Center For Speech Language Intervention
Speech-Language Pathologist
Chapel Hill, NC 27517
Experienced
I am owner/therapist of The Center for Speech Language Intervention. I have experience in schools but find that one on one intervention is the most productive way to provide optimal services for the client. Developing a trusting relationship with high expectations is core to reaching a child so we can work together on target goals. We must accept where the child begins and celebrate that next step, then the next and the next. I have worked with children from birth to high school in areas including: autism (including Aspergers), childhood apraxia of speech, receptive and expressive language delays and disabilities, processing disorders, stuttering, genetic disorders, articulation and phonological process disorders, phonemic awareness and reading comprehension deficits. Another aspect of communication intervention is to address psychosocial/behavioral issues that may accompany communication challenges. While we want to use research based interventions such as Interactive Metronome which accesses neuroplasticity to support therapeutic goals, there is also an organic process of being flexible in engaging with your child. Your child's needs are unique and discovering what works best is part of that process. References and recommendations available.

Louisiana Teletherapy
Speech-Language Pathologist
Gonzales, LA 70737
Speech & Swallowing Therapy at Home or Online
After 7 years working with adults in skilled nursing and rehab facilities, Louisiana Teletherapy was created by a passionate Speech Language Pathologist to focus on serving a high-need population who tends to be underserved in our area. We focus on treating adults facing speech, language, and swallowing difficulties due to Parkinson's Disease, Stroke, Alzheimer's Disease, Traumatic Brain Injury, ALS, and other associated neurological impairments. Rather than having to coordinate transportation to a clinic and being limited to the 4 walls of an office space, we meet you where you spend some of your most important time communicating - at your home! We travel to clients' homes in the Greater Baton Rouge and New Orleans areas for in-depth evaluations and treatment. If you are in another part of central/south Louisiana, don't hesitate to reach out. We may be able to reach your area as well. Teletherapy is offered in these areas as well as the entire state of Louisiana. We work with a hybrid-model of in-person and online therapy to ensure you are making the most of your therapy time and to troubleshoot any technical questions about connecting. We accept Medicare B, United Healthcare, and offer Private Pay options. More insurance coverage will be added in the future, so contact us with any needs you may have!
