Don't Just Cope With Autism. Make Life Better!
Transformative Autism Coaching
Disconnection. Isolation. Having a child with autism makes life hard. You’re running more, trying harder than any parent you know, and getting back so much less. It’s not just the big accomplishments—the Instagram Superstar moments everyone posts of their kids—that you miss. Even more, it’s the little things, like shooting hoops, baking together, playing games, story time… All those small moments of big connection that were supposed to be “givens” of parenting… And despite those nagging voices in your head … or possibly even from folks around you… before we go any further, let me reassure you that YOU are a GOOD PARENT. How do I know? Because you’re here. You recognize that your child, your family, YOU have a need, and you’re actively seeking solutions. I know you’re running. And I know that when you’re not running, your mind is. Running for the answers, for the solutions to this mystery that separates your child from you, from the world. Let me tell you a secret. You can stop running now. Your answer has been right here all along... Because YOU are your child’s best medicine. I know this probably isn’t the message you’re used to hearing. But it’s true. When you really boil it down, the only difference between ASD and “normal” development is the different between this: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1SLzPyxzbYIwNnW0jcdnHmqKBYX27e0NW/view?usp=sharing And this: https://drive.google.com/file/d/19o6T7DbYnUCz8kTdqJjOYKAd6dtAqGi_/view?usp=sharing It’s just a matter of your child knowing how to span the gap and grab hold of the scaffolding guidance you provide. That’s it. But simple isn’t always easy… without the proper guidance. And that’s where I come in. If you want to guide your child to reach out to you (and others) for genuine, meaningful connection. If you want to learn how to help them THRIVE—now, and in the future—I can help. Reach out today to schedule a free consultation.

Services: ** TELETHERAPY AVAILABLE ** LSVT-LOUD (Speech treatment for Parkinson's Disease patients):We provide evaluation and treatment for Parkinson’s Disease related communication deficits. Parkinson’s Disease and other neurological deficits often cause faulty feedback to the brain which can result in communication that is too soft, mumbled, monotone or hoarse. Because of this, patients with Parkinson's Disease can often be difficult to understand. Our LSVT-LOUD treatment teaches Parkinson’s Disease patients techniques to improve their communication ability and perception of appropriate loudness. Dysphagia – Patients with dysphagia have difficulty swallowing and may experience pain while swallowing, making it difficult to eat. Dysphagia is caused by weak muscles in the mouth and throat and is often a result of a stroke, multiple sclerosis, Parkinson’s disease or Alzheimer’s disease. Aphasia – Aphasia causes patients to have difficulty reading, speaking, listening and writing. Aphasia is caused by damage to parts of the brain that are responsible for language. Apraxia – Patients with apraxia have difficulty speaking what he/she wants to speak. Apraxia can occur in two forms. Patients can be born with the disorder or it can develop from a stroke or head injury. Dysarthria – Patients with dysarthria may have slurred speech, a slow or rapid rate of speech, abnormal rhythm when speaking or difficulty chewing and swallowing. Dysarthria can develop from a stroke or head injury. Stuttering – Stuttering is a communication disorder that causes difficulty in fluency of speech. This includes involuntary repetitions of words, parts of words or sounds. Stuttering is also referred to as stammering. Dementia – Dementia is related to memory loss. Speech and Language Therapy
Take a step toward confident communication at Summit Speech Therapy. All of the resources at our clinic are dedicated to helping our clients improve speech, language and cognitive skills. Better communication starts today! Summit Speech Therapy Inc, was created to improve client and family access to Speech-Language Therapy provided by well trained and knowledgeable Speech-Language Therapists. We treat clients of all ages for a wide range of communication and swallowing needs. After working for years in the local schools, therapy clinics, and hospital settings, we found a disconnect between what was needed, and what was offered and available. As SLP’s we believe that these needed services are fundamental to increasing quality of life. We grew tired of the school systems limiting appropriate treatment frequency due to budget and staffing restraints. We’ve worked in the “comprehensive” clinics where speech therapy is only an “after-thought,” and not given adequate resources. We created a clinic where speech services are our primary focus. We realize that all ages are affected by speech-language needs, as communication is a necessary life skill. We love working with the pediatric and youth population. We are also trained to meet the unique needs of adults. We want to not only increase access to these all-important services, but to do so in a timely manner.
