Services: ** TELETHERAPY AVAILABLE ** LSVT-LOUD (Speech treatment for Parkinson's Disease patients):We provide evaluation and treatment for Parkinson’s Disease related communication deficits. Parkinson’s Disease and other neurological deficits often cause faulty feedback to the brain which can result in communication that is too soft, mumbled, monotone or hoarse. Because of this, patients with Parkinson's Disease can often be difficult to understand. Our LSVT-LOUD treatment teaches Parkinson’s Disease patients techniques to improve their communication ability and perception of appropriate loudness. Dysphagia – Patients with dysphagia have difficulty swallowing and may experience pain while swallowing, making it difficult to eat. Dysphagia is caused by weak muscles in the mouth and throat and is often a result of a stroke, multiple sclerosis, Parkinson’s disease or Alzheimer’s disease. Aphasia – Aphasia causes patients to have difficulty reading, speaking, listening and writing. Aphasia is caused by damage to parts of the brain that are responsible for language. Apraxia – Patients with apraxia have difficulty speaking what he/she wants to speak. Apraxia can occur in two forms. Patients can be born with the disorder or it can develop from a stroke or head injury. Dysarthria – Patients with dysarthria may have slurred speech, a slow or rapid rate of speech, abnormal rhythm when speaking or difficulty chewing and swallowing. Dysarthria can develop from a stroke or head injury. Stuttering – Stuttering is a communication disorder that causes difficulty in fluency of speech. This includes involuntary repetitions of words, parts of words or sounds. Stuttering is also referred to as stammering. Dementia – Dementia is related to memory loss. A speech-language pathologist can help patients with dementia by using strategies to help preserve communications and cognitive function.

Neurodiversity Affirming SLP
I am an American Speech and Hearing Association certified speech-language pathologist and the owner of Communicate Your Way Speech Therapy. I received my bachelors degree in Communicative Sciences and Disorders from West Chester University in 2016, and masters in Speech Language Pathology from La Salle University in 2019. I specialize in receptive and expressive language delays, augmentative and alternative communication (AAC), and gestalt language processing (communication through scripts/delayed echolalia). I have spent the last half of a decade working with neurodivergent preschool and school-aged children. Through every setting I have worked in, I have encountered the same disappointing commonality. Many neurodivergent children are seen as a problem that needs to be “fixed”. After observing these compliance-based therapies and programs, I decided that our children need and deserve another option. At Communicate Your Way Speech Therapy, I will celebrate your child’s strengths. Alongside you, I’ll be your child’s biggest supporter and fan. Using a child-led, play-based approach, we will spend our sessions laughing and having fun—and all while making progress! I can’t wait to support your child’s communication journey!

Speech and Language Therapy
Take a step toward confident communication at Summit Speech Therapy. All of the resources at our clinic are dedicated to helping our clients improve speech, language and cognitive skills. Better communication starts today! Summit Speech Therapy Inc, was created to improve client and family access to Speech-Language Therapy provided by well trained and knowledgeable Speech-Language Therapists. We treat clients of all ages for a wide range of communication and swallowing needs. After working for years in the local schools, therapy clinics, and hospital settings, we found a disconnect between what was needed, and what was offered and available. As SLP’s we believe that these needed services are fundamental to increasing quality of life. We grew tired of the school systems limiting appropriate treatment frequency due to budget and staffing restraints. We’ve worked in the “comprehensive” clinics where speech therapy is only an “after-thought,” and not given adequate resources. We created a clinic where speech services are our primary focus. We realize that all ages are affected by speech-language needs, as communication is a necessary life skill. We love working with the pediatric and youth population. We are also trained to meet the unique needs of adults. We want to not only increase access to these all-important services, but to do so in a timely manner.
