"Play is really the work of childhood." - Mr. Rogers
Play is the foundation for learning through which I instill meaningful connections and foster problem-solving skills. Coupled with a certification in family trauma, my extensive knowledge and expertise in the neurology of play and parent coaching presents itself as a unique opportunity. Through my work with children and families, I focus on a dynamic approach, involving the internal state and external environment. I capture the individuality of the family unit, designing a therapeutic plan to build confidence and empower lasting change. The philosophy of my practice takes a holistic viewpoint to understand the whole child, laying a foundation for future success. I specialize in treating children with autism, attention difficulties, behavior challenges, language learning disabilities and picky eating in a supportive setting. When it comes to feeding, mealtime is truly special. It highlights a child's relationship with food, encouraging exploration, positive role models, and skill proficiency. Nutrition counseling further considers environmental attributes, facilitating education and self-efficacy. I provide parent coaching sessions and work closely with educators and other professionals to increase awareness, ensure consistency, and carryover invaluable tools. My goal is to empower parents and caregivers with strategies and resources. I welcome the child and adult into the therapeutic space because, as partners, we can achieve so much more!

Personalized Speech Therapy
Mobile Private Practice
I help frustrated people break down barriers to better communication, learning, and thinking so that they can lead fulfilling, independent lives. Mobile private practice and teletherapy allow me to provide personalized, encouraging, and effective therapy services to people in a way that meets them where they are. No worksheets, flashcards, etc. (unless you like those things!). I specialize in helping people experiencing difficulty with speaking, listening, reading, writing, attention/concentration, memory, organization, planning, and executive functions (the "boss" functions of the brain that help you get things done). I have a special place in my heart for people living with dementia and their families. While I cannot reverse or cure the cognitive decline that comes with dementia, I can help find ways to live well at each stage, reduce daily frustrations, and improve independence. Many people I work with have tried speech therapy in the past but found they did not have input into what they were doing, or their goals didn't meet their actual needs. So they left frustrated and without much progress. My approach focuses on shared goal-building and working together at a level that is challenging--but not impossible--so that you can see and feel the benefit of what you're doing.

Neurofeedback is direct training of brain function, by which the brain learns to function more efficiently. We observe the brain in action from moment to moment. We show that information back to the person. And we reward the brain for changing its own activity to more appropriate patterns. This is a gradual learning process. It applies to any aspect of brain function that we can measure. Neurofeedback is also called EEG Biofeedback, because it is based on electrical brain activity, the electroencephalogram, or EEG. Neurofeedback is training in self-regulation. It is simply biofeedback applied to the brain directly. Self-regulation is a necessary part of good brain function. Self-regulation training allows the system (the central nervous system) to function better. Neurofeedback addresses problems of brain dis-regulation. Are you looking for faster results?
Summit Speech Therapy is the answer you've been looking for!
After working for years in the local schools, therapy clinics, and hospital settings, we found a wide disconnect between what was needed, and what was offered and available. As SLP’s we believe that these needed services are fundamental to increasing quality of life. We grew tired of the school systems limiting appropriate treatment frequency due to budget and staffing restraints. We’ve worked in the “comprehensive” clinics where speech therapy is only an “after-thought,” and not given adequate resources. We created a clinic where speech services are our primary focus. We realize that all ages are affected by speech-language needs, as communication is a necessary life skill. We love working with the pediatric and youth population. We are also trained to meet the unique needs of adults. We want to not only increase access to these all-important services, but to do so in a timely manner. Those who have sought care have felt the frustration of being placed on waiting lists for many months at the larger clinics and hospitals. They also know the inconvenience of meeting the schedule of a part time therapist providing care in the home setting. Working within the wide range of communication services for children, adolescents, and adults is all we do at Summit Speech Therapy. Directing our full-time energy and resources towards these services allows us to stay at the forefront of the Speech-Language industry, and to provide the best care in the best interest of client and family. We pride ourselves on building confident communicators and increasing overall quality of life by utilizing evidence-based therapy provided by highly skilled speech-language pathologists. Our passion at Summit Speech Therapy is to focus wholly on stand-alone speech therapy to build confident communicators. Come and see the difference in our professional, clinical, comfortable setting, and meet our highly skilled Speech-Language Pathologists.

UNLOCK YOUR CODE TO EFFECTIVE COMMUNICATION!
In addition to Speech/Language Therapy, I offer Holistic Energy Healing and Reiki. I am PROMPT trained as well. In my practice I am commited to providing the highest quality service therapuetically. That means comprehensive, personalized approaches based on scientific research and annecdotal success. I believe that when working with children, the parents need to be involved in learning how to provide effective communication models and practice sessions for their child. When working with adults, whether it be Accent Modification or Voice Improvement or Business Presentation Skills, I am dedicated to helping each client reach their maximum potential. In expanding the treatments that I offer to clients, I have bridged the gap between oral/social communication and how our bodies communicate. Physical restrictions can impact oral communication, as well as learning and attention skills. I have been trained to use the rhythms and energy fields of the body to understand what the body needs and then treat my client holistically.
