Reading and writing deficits are also targeted for intervention, and augmentative and alternative communication devices created or recommended (low or high tech) for nonverbal patients, as well as training in use of voice prosthesis if appropriate. *Cognitive impairments including memory loss, problem solving/ reasoning, planning, orientation, and thought organization are evaluated and treatment is provided. Adaptive and environmental aids are created and patients and caregivers are trained in their use, such as memory books for those with Alzheimer's or other neurologic difficulties. *Hearing and visual impairments are addressed either in isolation or in conjunction with other deficits and patients and caregivers are assisted in obtaining and utilizing adaptive aids such as amplification devices, phones with special features, large print materials, or referrals are made to appropriate community resources. My treatment focuses on an individual's functional needs and abilities. Sessions are tailored to promote the best quality of life with the most realistic and attainable goals. I am married to my sweet husband and we have a boston terrier named Mahomie of whom was given the namesake after none other than Patrick Mahomes of the Chiefs! I am a board certified Speech-Language Pathologist, Feeding Specialist, and Certified Oromyofunctional Therapist through the Academy of Orofacial Myofunctional Therapy. I am a four-time award American Speech-Language Hearing Association winner for continued education beyond 200 hours. I provide pediatric SLP services to children from birth to 16 years. I have specialty experience with feeding and swallowing, complex medical disorders and speech and language disorders. I have extensive experience in working with premature infants, both in the NICU and beyond in Early Intervention. I also provide traditional medical SLP services combined with Craniosacral Therapy with improved functional outcomes. (Craniosacral therapy is a light touch therapy that helps to balance the nervous system, leading to improved neurological function and better availability for traditional therapies.) Services are provided in my office on an individual basis, with active parent participation and home programming. Speech disorders include: * Articulation disorders: Difficulties producing sounds in syllables or saying words incorrectly to the point that listeners can't understand what's being said. * Phonological disorders: Difficulties in speech sound patterns. * Fluency disorders: Problems such as stuttering, in which the flow of speech is interrupted by abnormal stoppages, repetitions (st-st-stuttering), or prolonging sounds and syllables (ssssstuttering). * Resonance or voice disorders: Problems with the pitch, volume, or quality of the voice that distract listeners from what's being said. * Motor speech disorders such as Apraxia of Speech (AOS): Difficulties saying what is wanted to say correctly and consistently. * Language disorders can be either receptive or expressive: * Receptive disorders: Difficulties understanding or processing language. * Expressive disorders: Difficulty putting words together, limited vocabulary, or inability to use language in a socially appropriate way. Pragmatic/social aspects of communication: Difficulties using language, changing language and following conversational rules. * Dysphagia/oral feeding disorders: These include difficulties with drooling, eating, and swallowing. * Cognitive aspects of communication: Difficulties with attention, memory, problem solving and executive functions. Tia worked in various settings leading speech and language therapy groups, facilitating and training staff in using augmentative and alternative communication devices in the classroom and collaborated and participated in co-treatment sessions with Special Education Teachers, Occupational Therapists, Physical Therapists, and Floortime Specialists, while using Floor Time (DIR Model). She also developed and implemented Individualized Education Programs for each child in her caseload. She is now in private practice in Stevenson Ranch, providing consultations, home, school, and clinic based interventions. For more than 17 years she has supported parents through family centered and evidence based approaches. Alyssa’s interests include language delay, autism, apraxia of speech, hearing loss, voice disorders and feeding and swallowing disorder. Providing speech and language services in the home or through telepractice allows children and their families to to target communication skills that are important to them. Alyssa has found that when families and clinicians work together to set and achieve goals, progress happens quickly and naturally.

Hi, My name is Esther and I’m a speech pathologist based out of Fort Myers, Florida. I am originally from Chicago but have been practicing here in Florida for 5 years. I do home health with multiple companies and also see clients privately. I always try to connect potential clients with a company that will take their insurance before charging out of pocket.
