Services: ** TELETHERAPY AVAILABLE ** LSVT-LOUD (Speech treatment for Parkinson's Disease patients):We provide evaluation and treatment for Parkinson’s Disease related communication deficits. Parkinson’s Disease and other neurological deficits often cause faulty feedback to the brain which can result in communication that is too soft, mumbled, monotone or hoarse. Because of this, patients with Parkinson's Disease can often be difficult to understand. Our LSVT-LOUD treatment teaches Parkinson’s Disease patients techniques to improve their communication ability and perception of appropriate loudness. Dysphagia – Patients with dysphagia have difficulty swallowing and may experience pain while swallowing, making it difficult to eat. Dysphagia is caused by weak muscles in the mouth and throat and is often a result of a stroke, multiple sclerosis, Parkinson’s disease or Alzheimer’s disease. Aphasia – Aphasia causes patients to have difficulty reading, speaking, listening and writing. Aphasia is caused by damage to parts of the brain that are responsible for language. Apraxia – Patients with apraxia have difficulty speaking what he/she wants to speak. Apraxia can occur in two forms. Patients can be born with the disorder or it can develop from a stroke or head injury. Dysarthria – Patients with dysarthria may have slurred speech, a slow or rapid rate of speech, abnormal rhythm when speaking or difficulty chewing and swallowing. Dysarthria can develop from a stroke or head injury. Stuttering – Stuttering is a communication disorder that causes difficulty in fluency of speech. This includes involuntary repetitions of words, parts of words or sounds. Stuttering is also referred to as stammering. Dementia – Dementia is related to memory loss. A speech-language pathologist can help patients with dementia by using strategies to help preserve communications and cognitive function.

Lake Murray Speech & Language
Speech-Language Pathologist
San Diego, CA 92119
We can help you with language, stuttering, voice, & speech!
~personalized speech therapy in a comfortable environment~
My name is Analicia Lucas, and I am the owner of Lake Murray Speech. I had worked in the outpatient hospital setting for years and saw how often, the length and quality of therapy is dictated by hospital policies and productivity standards. I wanted to create a more comfortable, personalized, and home-like experience for clients to come to therapy and work on their communication skills. That is how my private practice began. Here at Lake Murray Speech, we help those who have difficulty communicating to develop new skills and confidence. We provide speech therapy services for children and adults with the following concerns: Speech Sound Impairment, Language Impairment, Social Language/Pragmatic Disorder, Aphasia, Voice Disorder, Tongue Thrust, Stuttering, Hearing Loss/Aural Rehabilitation, Accent Modification, Apraxia of Speech, Augmentative & Alternative Communication. ABOUT US: Lake Murray Speech & Language was created to provide high-quality, more affordable speech and language services for those seeking private individual therapy. Our mission is to help each person gain the skills and confidence they need to become excellent communicators. We can effectively treat a variety of disorders, but we have specialized experience working with bilingual clients, Spanish-speakers, and American Sign Language users. In San Diego, many opportunities exist for children to receive speech therapy at no cost to the family. San Diego Regional Center speech therapy services are available for children ages 0-3 with severe needs and Children's Care Connection (C3) services are available to children 0-6 with mild to moderate needs. The San Diego RiteCare Childhood Language Center also accepts applications for free therapy for children ages 2-12. Additionally, your local school district provides free services to those who qualify (generally, children with moderate to severe impairments). If your child qualifies for any of these services, we encourage you to use them! Many children do not qualify, even if parents see a need for speech services. Other times, children qualify but are placed on a long waitlist. Some only qualify for very short sessions within a group setting and make limited progress this way. Similarly, if adults have a health insurance policy that does not cover speech therapy, the options for low or no-cost therapy are limited. That is why Lake Murray Speech & Language was created! We offer excellent speech therapy services in San Diego for those who are looking for more options.

Bridget Rainville, M.S, SLP-CCC
Speech-Language Pathologist
Colorado Springs, CO 80906
Patient driven adult speech therapy practice.
My mission in my speech therapy practice is to make sure my patients and families are getting the help they need. While working in a skilled nursing facility I often had patients discharge that continued to need speech therapy services but were sent home once they were discharged by occupation and physical therapy teams. I want to provide speech therapy services for those patients that continue to want to improve after they have returned home or after a move to a care facility. I focus on executive function skills and cognitive concerns as the basis for my care plan as everything relates back to the brain. I also see a need in my community for dementia services and hospice evaluations. My mission is to help patients continue to improve after a diagnosis of acquired brain injury, neurodegenerative disease, dementia/Alzheimer’s and executive function issues. The brain is incredible and research demonstrates that patients can continue to make progress towards their goals even if they are diagnosed with a chronic condition. I want to help patients with chronic aphasia that are motivated to continue to work directly on language skills. In the area of dementia my goal is to increase prevention, assessment and treatment services in my community of Colorado Springs. Research shows that addressing working memory helps language use in people with dementia.

The Root Therapy Services
Speech-Language Pathologist
White Rock, NM 87547
Providing home-based services to Los Alamos/White Rock areas
Statewide telepractice services now available
Hello everyone, My name is Justine Dodge, and I am excited to be providing pediatric speech-language pathology services to the Los Alamos and White Rock areas. My family and I moved to Los Alamos at the end of 2017. I have been working as an inpatient and outpatient SLP at Los Alamos Medical Center since January of 2018. I am presently providing adult rehab and acute services at LAMC, and I have 5 years of prior experience with treating toddlers and school-aged children with a variety of therapeutic needs. At the end of 2019, I started a small private practice called The Root Therapy Services. I focus on providing treatment for articulation and phonological delays and impairments, childhood apraxia of speech, autism spectrum disorders, developmental delays, language based delays and disorders, stuttering, feeding and swallowing difficulties, traumatic brain injury and cognitive reorganization (related to sports injuries, etc.), vocal cord dysfunction, and other voice disorders. Over the past several years, the qualification criteria for school therapy services has become more stringent, meaning that many people who may have qualified and benefited from services early on might not receive any services under current regulations and policies. At The Root, it is my goal to identify the need for services early on, and provide intervention that is appropriate for the individual. At this time, I am doing telepractice visits only. If you have a referral from your child’s pediatrician or primary care provider, please ask him or her to route it to our secure fax number. Feel free to message me if you are looking for another type of SLP service not listed above. I am always reading up on the latest efficacious and evidence-based treatment techniques. I am looking forward to serving you Los Alamos and White Rock, thanks and stay healthy! - Justine Dodge, M.S. CCC-SLP

He relieves patients suffering with speaking, singing and swallowing difficulties and provides home programming for continued maintenance of progress and preventing re-occurrence. Most importantly, Aaron doesn’t teach singing, he brings back the voice you had or develops the voice you wish you had by focusing on the athletics of sound. In addition, patients suffering from chronic hoarseness or cough, singing voice fatigue, ‘painful’ voice or swallowing and voice weakness can be cured. For a complete, all-in-one team approach, The Voice Clinic is experienced, uses only cutting-edge technology and offers an personal, fast and yet gentle service that leads the way for treating head, neck, speech, swallowing and singing health. Alex Osborn MD PhD, Medical Director and Head-Neck Surgeon at The Voice Clinic, Dr. Osborn is an American and Canadian Board Certified Surgeon of the Ear, Nose and Throat for both adults and children. He specialized in finite surgeries for children’s airway and ear disorders at the Cincinnati Children’s Hospital and now uses at TVC the world’s top surgical tools to repair voice, sinus and even skin lesions while the patient is in-office to avoid the need for general anaesthetic and hospital delays. The Voice Clinic is the only private treatment centre in Canada to use this new equipment and innovative therapy techniques together under one roof. Digital Videostroboscopy recording of speech, singing and swallowing allows a view of the vocal cords while a patient is speaking or singing. The high-quality imaging permits the most accurate diagnosis possible, and can analyse and record in slow-motion the mechanics of speech, singing and swallowing so problems can be eliminated. Each patient is educated and provided a copy of their evaluation for motivation and evidence. Our approach is that each person’s voice is precious and you need to know how to keep your voice healthy. Our KTP Laser allows for surgery that is maximally accurate and minimally invasive, eliminating the need for general anesthetic, incisions, scalpels, dressings or analgesics…KTP means a procedure one day, and return to work the next. Clinical applications for the KTP laser address the head and neck. Sinus, throat and skin lesions are eliminated without damaging the surface of the skin. Small spider veins in the face disappear, age spots are erased in one treatment and small lesions of the nose and vocal cords that cause big problems in some people are treated without scarring in the office avoiding long-hospital waiting and recovery. Free consultation is available through OHIP with your family doctor’s referral and reasonable private rates cover those without insurance. Audiological screening for hearing problems is provided on-site.
